Mauricio Pochettino makes 'prolific' Nicolas Jackson Chelsea prediction with clear bit of advice

Mauricio Pochettino has leapt to the defence of Nicolas Jackson following his gilt-edged miss against Nottingham Forest. Steve Cooper's side waltzed away from Stamford Bridge 1-0 victors on Saturday afternoon – but the result could have been all so different had the 22-year-old striker converted his chance from six yards.

As Chelsea looked for an equaliser late into the second half, Cole Palmer drove forward and threaded Raheem Sterling in behind the Forest backline. The England international darted past Joe Worrall before cutting the ball back upon reaching the byline.

"When you lose a game, the things that are negative appear," said the 51-year-old. "When we won against Luton no one talk about this. Yes, you can understand. I respect all the opinions and of course, for our side it is a matter of time to work and improve the players, to create the best platform.

"You know a process like this is always ups and down. We have a very young squad. We need to prove we can score and we can deal with the situation. Of course, we need to be more clinical in front of the goal and not make the same mistake like today when we concede the chance to Nottingham.
